You might or might not be familiar with the concept that this app is based on: deepfakes. Deepfakes have been known as technology that involves tech-savvy talents to create. However, with this app, you don’t necessarily have in-depth knowledge about the technology. You will be able to create your own deepfakes video of singing. With the tagline of ‘make your selfies sing’, this simple app feels so fun to make and send hilarious and weird memes.

For the free version, the users are allowed to pick from a list of song selections. For examples, there are Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, Haddaway’s ‘What is Love’, O-zone’s ‘Numa Numa’, and Ricks Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’. There is also a PRO or premium plan, where the users can access even more content. This premium plan is rated at $4.49/month or $29.99/year. One of the biggest concerns regarding deepfakes, however, is users’ data privacy. The developer company claims that it has no intention to make money by selling the data and goes further by stating that it only wants to provide funny content create services. In fact, the developer purposefully makes the content result to have low quality in order to make it obvious that the pictures are edited. Thus, it emphasized on how there is so little chance that the pictures are going to be confused with something that resembles reality.

Cons:

It has potential to be misused against someone’s will, which is a common concern with deepfakes technology, for example when another person’s image is used to sing along to song with inappropriate lyrics.

How to Use Wombo AI

To use the Wombo AI app, you simply need to add a selfie image, select a song then let it do the magic. On the main interface, you need to click the ‘Let’s Go’ button and authorize the app to access camera and gallery of your device. Then, select the picture you wish to use, click the ‘W’ green button to select the song or voice. After that, you only need to click on the button with the symbol of this platform again. It’s done! You may either save the result to your gallery or directly send it to your contacts.
