Twitter Lite
As one of the oldest social media, Twitter, or X is available as an app where you tweet and check the latest news right on your phone. However, the original app can be quite heavy and may not work on older devices. That is why they have this official lite version where you can enjoy connecting and catching up through tweets and keeping your data secure. Compared to the original app, twitter lite for Android is only a fraction of the size. The developers build and maintain this app for older phones that have smaller storage and slower networks.

Twitter Lite app review
Originally, the app only had basic features such as tweeting and a basic menu. However, the developer rewrote the whole code and included most features that you can find in the regular Twitter app. That is why, more people are downloading this app since it’s less storage hog than the regular one.
This includes features such as data saver and night mode. This lite version already has a data saver embedded in the code, but activating the feature will help you keep the data usage low. It is very handy when you have a limited internet quota.
However, the lite version is a wrapper from the Chrome web app, so it may accumulate a cache when you spend so much time in the app. The video player also isn’t as responsive as in the native app. Several users also complain about the lack of responsiveness and minor bugs in the app.
- The app size is less than 3MB
- It offers data saver options where you can choose which image and video to load
- The app is for older phone models with 2G and 3G networks.
- It has most regular Twitter app features
- The app is based on the Chrome web app thus it may act like a regular webpage.
How to Use the App
As soon as you load up the app, you must log in with your Twitter username and password. By default, you will see tweets from accounts you often see or interact with even though you don’t follow each other.
To see tweets from accounts you follow, tap the following tab on the top and you will see the latest updates. And when you want to tweet something, tap the quill icon on the bottom corner and write your thoughts in the What’s happening box.
Underneath a tweet, you can see three icons, a bubble, a return, and a heart. If you want to reply to a tweet, tap on the bubble underneath a tweet and tap post. To like a tweet, tap on the heart icon. And if you want to quote a tweet, choose the icon in the center and write the quote.
