Retro Bowl app review
This would be a perfect game for those who are into football. The game is nice, able to combine simple learning experience with dynamic (and yet fun) difficulty that will make you enjoy it to the highest level. The setup is exactly similar to the real NFL. It means that you can find teams that are now in the NFL. A lot of people who play the game state that they feel as if they were really controlling and player the current NFL teams (and the members). Plus, you can also perform some edit for the rosters, so you can come up with the ideal team that you want.
If you are a fan of those old-school pixel game, this one would give you a great satisfaction. It’s kind of fun, where you can really enjoy the unique grit of it. You will find some characters that are the same with the real NFL players, but you should know that the ones on the game are completely fictional.
Unlike other games with complicated and complex start, starting off this game is pretty simple and straightforward. You will begin by giving the coach a name and then choose the favorite team. Here’s the surprise, though: choosing your team doesn’t always mean that you will start off with them. After you have won a playoff game or the Super Bowl, then you have the opportunity to finally control the team you want.
The game really incorporates the saying ‘less is more’. With very simple and basic idea, you can enjoy a fun and exciting game without too much complication or fuss.
Pros:
- It feels nostalgic. The graphics may not be as sophisticated as other games, but that’s the appeal.
- The graphic is nice and on point despite the old-school pixel model
- Buttons and controls are pretty responsive
Cons:
- Some of the parts are repetitive, which can be quite boring
- Users won’t be able to do defence or play the special teams. They won’t be able to see how the drafted players actually play on the game because everything has been automatically ‘computerized’
Tips for Successful Playing
Keep in mind that fan rating bar can be quite important for your score, especially on longer term. You want to focus on getting Coaching Credits from the start, and simply focus on accumulating them. It will also affect your score and currency. Once your Coaching Credits are enough, you can start making your fans happy. It’s heavily related to fan rating bar.
Bottom Line
You need to develop your own strategy when playing this game. It does have its challenges because you need to combine wit and brain. But rest assured that Retro Bowl for Android is a totally fun game with classic retro pixel look.
