Monster Hunter Now
Monster Hunter Now for Android combines the exciting idea of Pokemon Go and the visual graphic (and technology) of Capcom. The result? A breathtaking game that Niantic has since PoGo (or Pokémon Go). Don’t brush it off just because you have played Monster Hunter before. Yes, Monster Hunter has been an exciting game on its own, but the new Go will take you to another level of enjoyment and fun gaming adventure.

Monster Hunter Now app review
As it was mentioned before, this game combines the concept of PoGo with Capcom’s graphic. If you have played PoGo before, then you should have no issue playing Go now. The concept of PoGo is for collection, while Now is about power progression. You’ll be busy playing it. You will have to gather plants, mine minerals, rummage bone piles, and most importantly, fight monsters. If you go through all of these experiences, you can develop your skills and gather crafting materials, which are handy for your armor and weapon’s upgrade.
The game session itself is short, but somehow, it’s meaningful. There is a satisfying sense of accomplishment when you level up or craft (and upgrade) something. You know that you will have your next upgrade with several hunts more.
The mapping feature is also nice. You can expand it so you are able to see the (gatherable) items and each monster within the area. PoGo encourages you to walk and then you will have random encounters while doing so. In Now, however, you can actually plan the route, depending on your needed resources.
Pros:
- Each battle is pretty short and straightforward. In fact, you only have 75 seconds to kill the monster or you are considered losing.
- The battle is fast and easy, depending on the level. At the beginning, battles are easy but as you progress, the difficulty level will also increase. This is when you need to determine your strategy to gear up and upgrade them.
- The fighting action is impressive
Cons:
- Battle strategy is always the same. You won’t be able to develop it out. If you lose, it’s not because of your strategy, but more because of your gear (which is weak).
- After a while, it becomes boring. After defeating the monsters (which require the same tactics and ways), it can get boring. There is no such as a thing as each monster is unique or whatsoever.
Handy Tips
- Every armor piece has its own skills or perks set. You should pick the armor pieces based on your playstyle skills instead of completing the armor set. No need to bother wearing the matching style or outfit. You’re after skills, not style.
- You need to progress through the gaming story to find more monsters. The more you find, the higher your progress will be.
- Elements are crucial in combat, especially if you are fighting bigger monsters. You need to choose a type of weapon and try it with different elements.
If you are one of the fans of the original Monster Hunter, it’s highly advisable that you try Monster Hunter Now for Android – or you will regret it deeply.
